Philippines Adventure, pt. 5

Morning reflections Good morning! I am writing this in the morning, so regardless of when you’re reading this, it is always nice to be wished a good morning ☺ At least I like the feeling. I like it better than good evening because in the morning, you have the whole day in front of you to live abundantly and to take each opportunity to breathe a full breath and exhale the contents of your lungs; in short, you have the whole day to be alive. Good evening signals the end of the day, the close to whatever you just witnessed or experienced. Sometimes, I suppose we wish the “good evening” would come sooner, maybe after a hard day or a stressful day; you know the days when you can’t seem to get “a leg up.” You might feel beaten and forlorn. On those days, a “good evening” could really make the end of your day, which in turn would make your sleep plentiful, which would in t urn make the next morning a “good morning.” Well, I am preempting all of that, and I am wishing you a good morning that t...

This may come as a surprise but I think that Filipina Kelsey is more Type B than she ever thought possible! I know this is shocking news, but let me explain. I no longer rush around with my head cut off, thinking about the hundred things I must accomplish when normal people cut the number off at two or three. I do not sleep for three hours between 9 am and noon, but I am getting regular sleep! Thank the Lord ☺ I am reading books upon books. I have finished three alone this past week. I am exercising regularly, albeit only a 30-minute to 40-minute run, but still it’s something to keep me going. I am still making lists of what I want to accomplish, so maybe that is my true nature popping up, but the rest has wonderfully calmed down. I get up at 6 am or before and I go to bed between 11 and midnight with a wonderfully mundane routine in between. Sometimes, although I love adventuring and scouring the earth for more excitement, I am content to simply stand still and enjoy being alive. I ha...

Philippines Adventure, Pt. 3

Minesview Before Erik left on Tuesday, we went to a place called Minesview. It is considered a park, but it has turned into a curio shopping area with a great outlook. It is convenient that such a great souvenir shopping area is located so close to where I live. It is a 15-minute walk uphill to the site, but the walk is one of the most beautiful in Baguio because of the views one can take in of the mountains and the rich foliage. I thought it was really funny that we saw two signs for no dumping of garbage nailed to posts that were surrounded by garbage. Oh well, they tried. The stalls are almost endless there, although when you enter the park, it does not seem that there are many vendors. As soon as you start walking further, though, you see that there are innumerable stalls selling derivations of the same thing. I devised a system that I would not buy more than one or two things from one person. I might as well spread the wealth around considerin g all the things are of the same qual...

Philippines Adventure, Pt. 2

Chickens I hate roosters and the sounds they make. Right now there is one outside of my window, bothering me and agitating my concentration. Why can’t we just make stew out of them. I have an alarm clock; I don’t need their assistance to rise. If it were up to them, I would rise at 4 am. They are so stupid that they don’t even know that the sun rises a full 2 hours later. Goodness! They also look dangerous. Have you ever seen a rooster up close and personal? I have, but I keep my distance! They have the appearance of being able to peck me to death. Erik found one in his bathroom twice. I consider myself a pacifist and do not really care to ever shoot a gun, but I think I would make exceptions for these animals ☺ I can’t even do my laundry without their annoying presence. I went up to the laundry lines where my clothes were hanging, and I came face-to-face with this ugly rooster. It stared me down; then quickly ran away. I guess I scared it. Good! Some news and updates from the Philippi...
